Brand Backyard
Definition: Accompanying content provided by brands such as blogs, official social media accounts, and private communities
How does your brand make their presence known without pushing their agenda to make the consumer purchase their products? By creating a brand backyard, of course!
The existence of a brand backyard provides the consumer with helpful content, engaging conversations and other ways to interact with their brand of choice without a heavy sales pitch. Some great examples of this would be a cosmetic brand (think: Maybelline) hosting community tutorials for their customers to chit-chat about creating different looks or perhaps a tool brand (think: Black and Decker) hosting a blog on home improvement ideas. Not only are these brand backyards helpful, but they serve as great resources that can entice a potential buyer to keep the brand in mind when they are ready to make a purchase!
Supplying additional content for your consumer to interact with your brand is essential for new and repeat business. Time to start tending to your brand backyard!
