Definition: A feature of Google Trends that displays a measurement of popular “searched for” topics that have gained popularity on any given day
Another day, another hot topic! Knowing how certain topics or news articles spread like wildfire depending on their subject matter, Google Hot Trends is keeping track of all that is going on. Using keywords to track the fastest rising internet searches, Hot Trends also provides information with search volume statistics, related articles, blogs, news, and web search results. They have even added a feature that allows you to view past hot trends, like these search stats from 2012-2013. (Remember when everyone was doing the Harlem Shake?! That is number 5 for 2013!)
Within the past couple of days, Fireball Whiskey soared to the top of the Hot Trends list. This is as a result of the popular alcohol being pulled from Canadian shelves due to the overuse of an additive that is also found in antifreeze. Based off of Fireball’s ranking in trends, a large number of people are trying to find out what’s going on!
